PRESIDENT | DR. CHARLES H. WASHINGTON, D.B.A.

My name is Dr. Charles H. Washington, D.B.A. I was born on March 25 1948, in Thomasville, Alabama. I was the youngest of five children. During my formative years I attended public schools through high school graudation. They were, Toulminville Elementary School; Brooker T. Washington Junior High School; and the well known Central High School all in Mobile, Alabama. While in High School, I enrolled in the school’s Distributive Education (DE) class. We took our required subjects in the morning with no lunch breaks and by 1:30 we were dismissed to go to work. I got a job as a Salesman/Stockboy with John Hardy Shoe Store, downtown in the heart of the city. After graduation, in September of 65′ I entered the United States Marine Corps.

I retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant after 28 years of active duty in January 1984. February of that same year, I began my lifelong passion of entering the hair care field. I enrolled in barbers college and completed the course in September. During November, I opened Tri City Square Barbershop, in Vista, California. That was my first taste of entrepreneurship. The establishment operated with six booths. While operating the business I enrolled in the University of Phoenix, completing my Bachelor of Science in Business Degree in October 1999 followed with a Master of Business Administration degree in February 2003. After relocating to Murrieta in 2004, I was blessed to open additional barbershops under the fictitious name of Rico’s Barbershop & Styles, Incorporated. While operating two businesses I completed a Doctorate of Business Administration Degree from Argosy University Online.

VICE PRESIDENT | DR. KENNETH B. ROBINSON

Dr. Kenneth B. Robinson is the ByLaws Chairman. Kenneth is originally from Memphis, Tennessee. He spent twenty-three years of faithful and honorable service in the United States Marine Corps. His educational background is: Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology from Park University, Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from National University and is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University. Kenneth is an advocate for mentoring young people and has served in many roles as a mentor, Big Brother and has held positions in politicala and fraternal organizations.

DR. CARL TYLER , PHD

My name is Carl Ward Tyler Jr. I was born in Chicago, Ill. and moved to Arkansas to finish high school. I am a proud father of four great children and eight fantastic grandchildren. I joined the United States Marine Corps in 1982 and served 24 years. I attained my Bachelors of Science in Management Studies in 2000, Master’s in Security Management in 2007, Master’s in Adult Education in 2011, and a PhD in Martial Science & Martial Arts Philosophy in 2010. I taught business courses for Central Texas College for 3 years on Camp Pendleton. I am certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

I have trained or taught martial arts for over 40 years. I have attained black belts in various forms of martial arts. I was inducted in the California Master’s Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2010 and the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2010 and 2012. I presently work for the Department of Defense at the School of Infantry on Camp Pendleton, CA. I develop and maintain the curriculum for the Scout Sniper Courses, Reconnaissance Courses, Free-fall School, Combat Instructor School, and the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.

SECURITY MANAGER | TREASURER
LARRY D. FERGUSON

Larry D. Ferguson is a native from Oklahoma and has resided in Southern California since 1980.
Larry is devoted to his family, friends, and strives for the well-being of the community in which he lives. Through his employment, community-based outreach programs, and the local church he continues to give of his time, talents, and resources.
Larry enlisted in the United States Military and served as part of the Security Force detachment during 911. Larry retired honorably after 23 years of service.
Larry worked for 24 years in Law Enforcement as a Correctional Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, SERT Commander, and State Agent. He has provided several thousand hours of instruction to Law Enforcement Agencies such as the Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation, San Diego County Sheriffs, Los Angeles County Sheriff, and the United States Marshals.
Larry is knowledgeable and trained in multifaceted specialized areas including Gang Intervention (Drug Trafficking, Crisis Intervention, Inner-City Gangs/Disruptive Groups and Anti-Social Groups), Street Survival, Violence Taskforce Intervention, Anti-Terrorism, Hostage Negotiations. Larry served as a valuable resource for quality-of-life issues in neighborhoods deemed high risk.

ASSISTANT SECURITY MANAGER |
DR. SYLVESTER SL HOUSE JR, D.B.A

Sylvester is a native of Ogden, Utah. In 1970, at the age of 4 his family relocated to Seattle, Washington. He obtained his education from kindergarten through high school from the Seattle Public School System. Young Sylvester realized his limitations remaining in the Seattle area after graduating high school, therefore, he decided early as a junior in High School, to enlist in the U.S. Navy in the De-layed Entry Program. Upon graduating in 1984, he joined the active duty ranks within the Navy. After completing recruit training in San Diego, California, he was reassigned globally during his stellar career prior to retirement.
During the course of his military career commencing from the rank of E-1 and advancing to the rank of (E8) Senior Chief Petty Officer. Mr House ultimately retired December 1, 2010, as a Quartermaster Senior Chief Petty Officer. Upon retirement, Senior Chief House relocated from San Diego to the Inland Empire where he now makes his home. After retirement the following scholarship accolades were accomplished:

JOHNNIE MORROW

Johnnie Morrow is a native of Texas and has lived in Meniffee California since 2004. He presently works at Abbott Vascular as a Manufacturing Engineer Technician. After twenty years of military service he retired from the United States Navy in May 2006. He has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration of Science (MBA) from Webster University in San Diego and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems in Science from University of Phoenix.

MEMBER AT LARGE | RONALD HENDERSON

Ronald Henderson is a native of Ohio, hailing from the city of Dayton. June 1988, Ronald graduated from North Harden High School. After completing high school, Ronald enlisted in the U.S. Navy and remained on active duty until October 2006. While on active duty, Ronald served at various overseas commands as a Medical Technician. During his military career, he enrolled in several classess working towards a college degree.

October 2007, Ronald graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis on Health Care Administration Management. Ronald is currently employed with the U.S. Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, California, with the Patient Relations Department. On a part-time basis, Ronald is employed with Kaiser Permanente Hospital as a Radiologist Technician. Ronald is a proud member of OMEGA PSI PHI Fraternity Incorporated. Ronald is single and a proud father of a son and daughter.

CHAIRMAN BYLAWS COMMITEE | DAVID BRIGGS

David Briggs was born in Southern California and is a proud married father of 3. He is currently a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy with over 22 years of active duty service. His tours include 11 years as a Submarine Maintenance Technician (MM) and 11 years as a Navy Counselor (NC); with a tour in Afghanistan as a Postal Supervisor and several other deployments.

David’s educational background includes an Associate’s degree in Applied Marine Engineering with honors from Coastline Community College in 2002, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Administration and Management focus from Excelsior College in 2011 and a Master’s degree in Human Behavior from National University in 2012.

He is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt; additionally pursuing the Black belt certification. His military qualifications includes Master Training Specialists, Afloat Training Specialists and a graduate of the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy in 2016. David is a proud and dedicated member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated and Smooth Ashlar Lodge #119.

ASSISTANT IT SPECIALIST | ISAIAH MORROW

Isaiah embarked on his academic journey at Northern Arizona University, where his dedication to scholarly achievements propelled him to attain a Master of Business Administration. Complementing this advanced degree, Isaiah holds bachelor’s degrees in both Finance and Hotel and Restaurant Management. Currently, he applies his expertise as a Banking Analyst at City National Bank.

Outside the professional realm, Isaiah dedicates his free time to nurturing his mental and physical well-being. He finds joy in attending live music events, and cherishes moments spent with his loved ones.

MEMBER AT LARGE | RAYMOND E. MCLAUGHLIN

Was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he attended Grammar School and High School. After graduating high school he attended Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He majored in Social Studies, History and played Basketball. In 1975, he enlistedinto the United States Army, where he received training in Telecommunications. He completed his military career at Fort Ord, California. In 1978, he was recruited by the Pacific Grove Police Department. Later he joined the Monterey County Sheriff Office.

In 2001, the San Francisco Region of the FBI selected him to attend their FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He is a member of the 210th FBI National Academy graduating class. As a Lieutenant, he was awarded the Monterey County Sheriff Office Metal of Valor, as Tactical Commander for their C.E.R.T Team. After completing 33 years of service in Law Enforcement he retired as Chief Deputy of the Custody Operations Bureau. He was appointed Mentoring Chairman for the 100 Black Men of America, Monterey Chapter. He also served as High School Freshman / Junior Varsity Basketball Coach.

MEMBER AT LARGE | LAWRENCE MILLS

Lawrence Mills is a native of Mobile and 1965 graduate of Mobile County Training School. After high school Larry entered the U.S. Air Force. After completing recruit training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, he was assigned to Amarillo Air Force Base for training in Logistics. Afterwards he was at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio. He went on to have a stellar 22 year career traveling the world. He met and married his wife in 1966. Out of this wedlock they produced 3 lovely kids. After retiring from the Air Force he worked at Folsom Prison and later transferred to Southwest Youth Authority as an instructor. He currently is an instructor at San Bernardino Valley College.
